On January 12th, the Chuck Knows Church folks introduced "The Committee". A spinoff of the original Chuck Knows Church series. Again featuring Chuck, each month this series invites congregations to look at the issues and barriers that block them from growing deeper and becoming more vital.
"The Committee" uses humor and real-life issues to invite you into a conversation about the future of your congregation. At times the subjects will sting and may hit close to home, and at other times you'll disagree with what is said. Hopefully you'll occasionally laugh.
Each episode of "The Committee" has an accompanying downloadable one-page study guide (PDF). In the week following the release of each episode, Chuck Knows Church will host a one-hour Webinar where you’ll learn more and have an opportunity to share your own experiences.
Our goal? Giving you yet another tool for your congregation to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
Watch alone. Or, even better, assemble a small group and watch together. Then talk.
The original Chuck Knows Church continues in production! The original Chuck Knows Church series is a fun and informative weekly web series about the objects, symbols and terms used in church. Take a couple of minutes each week and have some fun while you learn from Chuck! A new episode will be released each Thursday.
We carry the entire Chuck Knows Church catalog (the current episodes plus all back issues) of both the original series and "The Committee" in a dedicated Special Interest Community inside our general-purpose Connected Community. It is FREE with registration.
TransformingTheChurch.org proudly carries the entire Chuck Knows Church catalog of episodes in our Connected Community. Likewise, we will carry all episodes of "The Committee."
The United Methodist Church’s General Board of Discipleship (GBOD) produces Chuck Knows Church. GBOD is part of the headquarters of the Protestant denomination, which United Methodists call a General Agency. Rev. Steve Horswill-Johnston, executive director of communications at GBOD, produces each episode. They have a team of consultants headed by Taylor Burton-Edwards, director of worship resources of The United Methodist Church, who adds depth to the scripts and checks for accuracy. They also have a team of volunteers who help in countless ways.
