Registration is now open for Stewardship and Financial Health by the  Rev. Bruce Barkhauer. The online course is jointly offered by the Ecumenical Stewardship Center and transformingthechurch.org.

The purpose of this course is to explore the conditions that make for financial health in both congregational and personal life.  There are issues related to leadership, attitudes, approach, policy, and process that are consistent among congregations that see success in gathering resources for mission and ministry.  Likewise, there are issues related to attitudes, approach and practice that lead to personal contentment and lowered anxiety about money in the household.  Participants will examine these topics, be pressed to evaluate their own congregational and personal practices around money with the expectation that such an exercise will provide tools for growth, generosity, and an abundant life.

Stewardship and Financial Health is part of the Steward Leaders Engaging God’s Mission online course series offered by the Ecumenical Stewardship Center and TransformingTheChurch.org. Students enrolled in Steward Leaders Engaging God’s Mission courses learn principles and practices relating to stewardship and leadership through studying Scripture, exploring theological principles, developing holistic perspectives, critiquing culture, creating healthy relationships, and achieving financial health.

The registration fee for Stewardship and Financial Health is just $49.95.

Rev. Bruce Barkhauer is Minister for Faith and Giving and Director of the Center for Faith and Giving of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Bruce brings a biblically-based understanding about stewardship combined with theological integrity and weds them to the current trends and best practices related to spirituality and money. In his workshops and writings, Bruce also talks about the multiple understandings about stewardship in the biblical witness as they touch the whole life of a person of faith. He is a graduate of Ohio University, Christian Theological Seminary, and did Doctor of Ministry studies at Ashland Theological Seminary. During his ministry he has served both the Regional and General Manifestations of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) by providing leadership in areas of stewardship and finance, personnel management, video production and direction, as a parliamentarian, and with matters of spiritual discernment.
