Bill Anderton has launched a community devoted to building effective online ministries. His blog has started and his podcast will begin shortly

Matthew 5:14–16

14 “You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. 15 No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." (NRSV)

In the age of the Internet and ubiquitous connectivity, there is no brighter tool for use in ministry than the power and global reach of the Internet.

"Building and Operating Effective Online Ministries" will launch on Monday, March 25, 2013 dedicated to helping local churches, judicatories and other ministries making a difference on the Internet.

The community is open to all and is made available without charge. Free registration is required but it only takes a minute or two to register. With registration, community members become a member of this special-interest community as well as the general-purpose Connected Community.

This community has several facets that are part of a larger educational effort to teach people about building and operating effective on-line ministries. The free aspects of this community are:

  • A blog
  • A podcast
  • Episodic on-line free events
  • Webinars
  • Case studies
  • Forums
  • News
  • Feature stories
  • E-mail newsletters

Also, the community work synergistically with an up-coming series of fee-based courses on the same topic as well as some planned Ticketed Events. Participation in these fee-based aspects of the community will always be optional; participation by the community is hope for but certainly not required.

Fresh content and materials will be added to this community often, several times per week. Discussion in the forums will build over time and will begin happening daily very soon. Plan on dropping into the community at least several times per week in order to keep up.
